Visual Concept & Cover Art Development — Rosa Chemical

In the months leading up to his first appearance at the Festival di Sanremo, I collaborated with Rosa Chemical on the development of a new visual direction surrounding the release of the single Made in Italy.

The core of the project was the creation of the cover artwork, developed in dialogue with a photographer through a light-writing study that became central to the visual narrative. I conceived an imaginary rooted in a stylized sense of Italian stately nostalgia — iconic, symbolic, slightly theatrical — balancing irony and reverence.

Beyond the cover, our collaboration extended to additional artworks, communication strategies, and instant content designed for social media during a peak visibility moment such as Sanremo. We worked on innovative communication approaches and marketing gestures, aligning image and timing with the cultural amplification surrounding the festival.

Being the same age, the exchange was natural and fluid. The process was driven by energy and mutual understanding, allowing us to build a visual language that felt both instinctive and strategically sharp within a highly competitive media landscape.

My name is Matia, with a single “T.”
I am a visual artist born in Milan. Growing up between photography sets and the music in my parents’ pub, I developed an early sensitivity to images, sounds, and people. I studied music, humanities, and communication design. I’ve worked across clubs, events, fashion, and branding, collaborating with names like Dolce & Gabbana and Entro. Every experience has brought me closer to my language: the image as truth.

My work comes from the desire to make visible what we are, without filters. I believe everyone has a truth to show. I want to see all of them.
